HARDWARE
Foldable Basement
The Structure is based on a special 40′ Flat-rack steel frame with an openable folded sideboard system which allows two status:
- Rest: Fully closed, it resembles a 40′ Hi-Cube Open Top container and could be logistically handled on the sea, rails, and road
- Work: Fully opened it hosts heavy devices (3D TANGO and 3D SWINGER) loaded with max 40t blocks, and it shows a wide flat floor area to host the covering system (inflatable gallery)
Perfect leveling is granted by a system of stationary feet that could be fit with servo-hydraulic devices controlled by a digital leveling control-panel. All openable sideboards are hydraulically powered under the control of a central Unit, which grants the right opening-closing procedure execution.
Roto-traslator (3D SWINGER)
3D SWINGER controls the position of the block during all stages of the shooting cycle.
The lower part is made by a four wheels trolley moving on profiled rails powered by a motorized gearbox with position control.
The upper part is a platform rotating on a 1,2 m slewing wheel fitted with a gear to control rotation position. Both axes (Translation and Rotation) are numerically controlled by a Central Unit.
The block is supported by four adjustable heavy-duty feet that can be positioned according to the actual block’s lower face dimension. It interacts with 3D TANGO, where the block will be presented in the right position to perform the tilting cycle, and after tilting it will move to receive the position of the tilted block.
Tilting Device (3D TANGO)
3D TANGO is a patented device able to tilt a block on board of 3D SWINGER without the help of any external hoisting device.
It is arranged in two symmetrical parts boat-like framed, which are suited with a vertical movement so to take charge of block weight when up-lifting or pose the block down on 3D SWINGER when descending. 4 arms govern the tilting movement.
Each of them has an independent 90° stroke from a horizontal to a vertical position and vice versa. During the tilting operation, the four mechanical arms are synchronized to collaborate to tilt the block as they were single L-shaped support.
During rest time all four arms are horizontally positioned. 3D SWINGER may freely transit through space in between the two symmetrical parts.
Extensible Covering
For the fixed station (CINEMA STUDIO), a special retractile structure covered by a double-layer mantle grants the dark ambiance in the room.
The size of the structure is about: Length = 9,5 m x Width =5 m x Height = 6,5 m It’s externally shaped like a box with a rooftop, and it’s easy to install; the preparation of the ground floor is not critical. The structure is based on heavy cement beams simply put on the floor and carrying a couple of rails to slide the trusses so that the mantle shall be tense.
There’s no problem with asking permission from the local tech department of government and beg for building permissions, as this is under all aspects considered a removable structure: in fact, the whole structure is considered as “temporary” as it is movable on rails, and funded on heavy beams simply put on the floor, heavy enough to avoid fixing need at all.
Inflatable Covering
For the moving station (EISENHOWER) a special inflatable mantle is provided, pre-positioned so it is ready for the erection immediately at the time when the structure is open.
The structure’s size is about: Length = 12 m x Width =9 m x Height = 7 m Erection takes about 25 minutes; the covering structure is shaped like a tunnel with an entrance at the front. The doors as well are inflatable and driven by a mechanical pivot in the floor.
The inflatable mantle is made by a polymeric material that is suitable to be exposed to bad weather, granting the right conditions to work with winds up to 30 Km /h. Over 50 Km / h it should be deflated, and when recovered into the foldable container there’s no problem with any wind up to 140 Km / h
Image Capturing System
The main camera is specially profiled in association with calibrated illuminators to capture with extreme accuracy the whole range of colors of stone, in all existing nuances.
The resolution is extremely accurate and grants that the smallest detail will be nicely represented. The lighting system is controlled through the result on the image of the collection of calibrated colors, specially selected to match the spectrum of colors of natural stone.
The camera shooting cycle is automatically synchronized with the block positioning movements and entirely controlled by the Roto-Translator 3D SWINGER. All images are collected according to a precise protocol and channeled to the server, which will build the 3D model according to the picture’s high quality.
Mobile Station Set-up System
EISENHOWER moving station can quickly be opened up and put at work anywhere in open space to serve locally stored blocks. Its overall shape when it is folded up and ready to go on the road to reach the next destination is 40′ Hi-Cube Container-like and can be accordingly managed with any suitable truck.
Once at the site, it can be positioned to any type of ground, its servo-mechanized feet will enable a fast and perfect platform leveling. The walls and ceiling will tilt, becoming a floor, and the inflatable covering will blow-up and create a dark room.
Tele Control Panel
The operator will work far from the block and with all information available on-screen, along with a complete set of commands to operate each and every part of the system.
The cabin is space Length = 4 m x Width =2 m x Height = 2,7 m. It’s a real office space conceived to give the right environment to the operator who can carry out station government and file documents as well while interacting with the outside world through the window. It comes with a panoramic fixed window, a small openable window, and the main door.
The cabin is all fit with safety glasses to avoid protection bars, enhance visibility and protect the operator. The cabin may be dressed with a climatization unit.
